Sweetwater Landing marina launches ‘Harbor for Heroes’ program

The Sweetwater Landing public marina is extending a 50 percent discount on boat slip rentals to public service personnel through its “Harbor for Heroes” program.

Applications may be submitted for vessel approval with proof of insurance along with a valid ID and proof of current employment with EMS, fire department, U.S. Coast Guard or police serving Alva, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Shores, Lehigh Acres, North Fort Myers and Tice.

Sweetwater Landing is a full-service marina offering in-water dockage for boats 30 to 100 feet and dry dockage for boats 18 to 30 feet. The 50 percent reduction on current rates is available on a limited number of vacant slips that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. “Harbor for Heroes is a way for us to say thank you to the many men and women who serve our community,” said Mark Chase, marina manager.

Sweetwater Landing offers access to the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico just one-quarter mile north of State Road 80 on State Road 31 (GPS:N 26 degrees 42’57”, W 81 degrees 45’41”). Sweetwater Landing also offers boat repairs, detailing services, fuel, power and water hookups, shower facilities and a ships store.
