Verandah’s garage sale raises more than $10,000 for CCMI and Gulf Coast Humane Society
Verandah’s garage sale raises more than $10,000 for CCMI and Gulf Coast Humane Society FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 12, 2012) - Verandah residents, friends and community neighbors helped shatter records at the fourth annual community garage sale - with record attendance and a record-breaking $10,000 raised for the soup kitchen at Community Cooperative Ministries Inc. and for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

The "garage" sale - which actually takes place at the community's information center – included terrific bargains for shoppers who supported local charities with their purchases. And it didn't end there: All unsold items were donated to the Oasis Youth Shelter, CCMI and Second ACT, the thrift store for the Abuse Counseling & Treatment women's shelter, and nonperishable food items were collected for CCMI.

The $10,000-plus total sets a record for Verandah, passing last year's sales by more than $2,000.

The garage sale, which has raised more than $25,000 in four years, is one of many community-wide fundraisers sponsored by Verandah residents. The community also participates in the annual United Way campaign and raises funds for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, among others.

Verandah offers villa homes and estate, custom and traditional single-family homes in a variety of neighborhoods, including homes available for immediate occupancy. Home and homesite packages are priced from the low $190,000s to more than $1 million, and pricing on custom homesites now starts in the $50,000s.

Verandah is offering a Natural Selection of Savings with developer incentives and builder discounts available through April 30. For more information, visit the Information Center located two miles east of I-75 on State Road 80, call 866-694-7199 or log onto www.Verandah.com.
